The UN hates men
The UN sets up women-only food lines in Haiti. Unbelievable.
Back in Haiti, people have started receiving coupons entitling each family to 55lbs of rice. The first distributions begin today, with only women allowed to collect rations. The World Food Programme said it would work to ensure men in need are not excluded. It aims to reach more than two million people in the next two weeks. So far, it has dealt with about 600,000 people, supplying more than 16m meals.
Let’s put these two phrases together: “only women [are] allowed to collect rations [... we] work to ensure men in need are not excluded.”
You can’t make this stuff up. They are trying to ensure men are included — by excluding them!
Aside from it’s obvious stupidity, the policy is particularly unfair. Haitian men do most of the dangerous rescue work. Men rescue women and children, and those same men are denied food. It is the most blatant and deadly form of man-hatred I’ve ever encountered.
Look at the faces of hungry Haitian men, some exhausted from rescue work, denied food.
Are your fists balled into white-knuckled fists?
Here is a list of aid organizations that feed women and starve men. These estrogen-soaked organizations need to be taught a manly lesson. Uncurl your fists and start typing.
UNICEF, World Food Programme, Samaritan’s Purse, Catholic Relief Services, CARE, World Vision, ACTED, Save The Children, GOAL, and ADRA.

I think there are some that believe the government should assume the male role in the family. They believe that
on balance males and maleness, other than in limited circumstances, are counter-productive in todays brave
new world. They believe government can better provide the food, economic and physical security necessary
to grow and shape the young minds of tomorrow. The penalties for the posession of a penis continue to mount.

I emailed Samaritan’s Purse and got a pretty quick reply. I blogged about it here, if you’re interested: http://getalonghome.com/2010/02/discrimination-in-haiti-relief-efforts/
Thanks for the post.

So, is denying men food a “hate” action? Where might I see the list of participating organizations?
What we found in the United States is that if we structure our Aid to Families with Dependent Children so that families with a man don’t get support, the men will disappear. The percentage of African-American children growing up without a man in the house is around 68%-70%. Let the men know they are not wanted, and they’ll get lost. But, is that really a good idea? I think not.
